Family and Children's Services of Guelph and Wellington County (F&CS for short) is sometimes referred to as the local Children's Aid. We provide help and support services for families to ensure that children are protected from physical and emotional abuse or neglect. F&CS is a charitable, non-profit agency that is legislated and primarily funded by the provincial Ministry of Children and Youth Services. F&CS cares about the well-being and safety of children and wants to help families provide caring and safe environments for their children.
We are mandated by and receive funding from the Ontario Ministry of Children and Youth Services for the following services:
- Investigating allegations of child abuse and neglect
- Protecting children and youth when they are at risk of harm
- Covering basic living costs for children and youth in our care
- Placing children for adoption
