Community Partners

Family and Children’s Services of Guelph and Wellington County (FCSGW) has a strong belief in the value of prevention, early help, community partnerships and collaboration. We built our community-based service model by focusing on a continuum of services ranging from prevention and early help, to family support, temporary care, and adoption. This service model is also based on the concept that protecting children is a broad community responsibility that can best be achieved through a network of partnerships.

In support of this community-based service model, FCSGW has nurtured the development of a number of significant community partnerships over the years. These include the Shelldale Centre, Kindle Communities Inc. and local neighbourhood groups. These partnerships provide early help and supports for families to offset the need for more intrusive actions.

Additionally, we recognize that power and privilege in society are often shaped by factors such as gender, sexual orientation, race, income, language, religion, age, body size, and ability. These factors—whether visible or invisible, intentional or unintentional—can result in systemic barriers and forms of oppression such as racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, and other forms of marginalization. Find out how we are reinforcing our commitment to an inclusive and equitable health system here.

FCSGW also values its close working relationships with many organizations including the following:
